Afendoulis declares victory in State Senate primary
GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP -- Chris Afendoulis tonight declared victory in the Republican primary race for the 29th State Senate district.
“I am pleased with the results of today’s election, and humbled by the support I received from our community during this primary season,” Afendoulis said. “I want to thank my supporters for their confidence in my candidacy for the Senate.”
Afendoulis, a certified public accountant and co-owner of Afendoulis Cleaners and Tuxedos, currently serves as State Representative in the 73rd district. He said that he looks forward to the next leg of the campaign.
“I am eager to continue meeting with residents in Kent County and sharing my vision for our community and state,” Afendoulis said. “Although tonight’s result is a step toward our ultimate goal, we have a greater challenge lying ahead of us in November, and I look forward to the fall campaign.”
